Welcome to my Lake2Lake Fundraising Page
This year, on Saturday, September 18th, I will be heading to Brantford, Ontario and jumping on my bike for a ride to Port Dover, on the sandy shore of Lake Erie, all in support of quality education.
Through Wellspring's Canada-wide Lake2Lake Challenge, we're raising awareness about the urgent need for quality education in the Global South and raising funds to support the development of great education for the children of Rwanda. This is a cause I'm passionate about, and that I'm willing to go many extra miles for!
Since Wellspring started in 2004, the work has grown to impact over 195,000 Rwandan children, as well as their teachers, leaders, parents, and wider communities. By equipping all members of the educational ecosystem with the tools to create vibrant and engaging learning environments, these children are having the opportunity to receive a quality education that will change their lives and futures. And we get to be part of this!
This year has been particularly challenging in Rwanda due to COVID restrictions, vaccine shortages, school closures, and the eruption of the Nyirigongo Volcano that disrupted life for many weeks last spring. Students, teachers, and parents rely on on your generosity to help re-gain lost ground.
Will you help Wellspring provide thousands of Rwandan children with a quality education? Would you consider supporting me and helping me reach my goal? Every dollar raised makes a difference. Besides, it will be a lot of fun.
If you're in the area, maybe you'd even like to join me on the ride or drop by to spur me on! Riders will stop at noon in the village of Waterford for a free lunch, dessert from Ritzy Cakes & Eatery, and a special beer tasting flight from Wishbone Brewing Co. After lunch, everyone can take some time to visit local landmarks, such as the incredible Waterford Antique Market, the Fishin' Musician Music Store, and the Waterford Heritage Museum. It's a great place to spend time with kids or relax with friends.
Most importantly, I'm counting on the financial and moral support of friends and family to transform this effort into the worthy goal of quality education for the children supported through Wellspring. I've set a goal of $9,000 for my ride. Won't you join me in making it possible?
Thanks so much!
