A Request For Your Support - The 2019 Lake2Lake Ride for Rwanda
My name is Tom Senft, and on September 14th and 15th I will be participating in a two-day major cycling event called The Lake2Lake Ride for Rwanda benefitting the Wellspring Foundation for Education in Rwanda. This is my 4th annual L2L ride. I will be cycling over 200Km in the Okanagan & Shuswap region of the B.C. interior. Me and the other 80+ riders hope to raise at least $85,000 to benefit education for children in Rwanda. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made! With your assistance I need to raise $1,500. However, my personal fundraising goal is to raise $2,000. So here’s where you come in, because I need your help to do that.
Could you please consider making a donation? Although any donation amount is accepted, if you are able, please try to donate at least $100 to this very worthwhile cause. Your gift supports the teaching of quality education as follows: $30 – ½ classroom (35+ students) for one month; $55 – 1 classroom (70+ students) for one month; $360 – ½ classroom for one year; $660 – 1 classroom for one year; $2,640 – 4 classrooms for one year. Funds raised for the Lake2Lake Ride for Rwanda will help Wellspring transform schools and lives. In addition, your donation is tax deductible.

I decided to take on this ride for a variety of reasons. Front and center to my decision was that quality education touches each and every one of us, including my three young kids. And we all can help Rwanda overcome its education gap. As Rwandans continue working to overcome the legacy of the genocide, quality education is key. Yet many children learn in overcrowded classrooms with 60 to 100 students. Teachers lack certification, ongoing training, resources, and adequate pay. Morale is low and absenteeism is high. It’s an overwhelming situation. The Wellspring Foundation for Education works in cooperation with the Rwandan government to equip and transform schools into vibrant learning communities in which children can thrive and fulfill their potential.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
