Welcome to my Lake2Lake Page
I’m hiking 44km along the BADEN POWELL HIKING TRAIL in the Lake2Lake Ride, Walk or Run for Rwanda as a fun, challenging, and active way to engage in the work of The Wellspring Foundation for Education. Our team at Wellspring believe that all children deserve to receive a quality education.
Since Wellspring started in 2004, the work has grown to impact over 195,000 Rwandan children, as well as their teachers, leaders, parents, and wider communities. By equipping all members of the educational ecosystem with the tools to create vibrant and engaging learning environments, these children are having the opportunity to receive a quality education that will change their lives and futures. It is a joy for me to support our team of Rwandan trainers because I believe so whole-heartedly in this good work. And I want to invite YOU to be part of this!
Let's help Wellspring provide thousands of Rwandan children with a quality education! Would you consider supporting me and helping me reach my goal? Every dollar raised makes a difference.

Re-Doubling my efforts for Lake2Lake
I think we can all agree that this has been a most unusual summer. But even in the strangeness, I've been surprised by so much good. One of the good things I've marveled at is how much support I've received as I've been training and fundraising for my Lake2Lake Hike for Rwanda!
I think I set my sights a little low when I reached my first fundraising goal within a week. So I doubled it and am now RE-doubling my goal to $6,000. I'd LOVE to reach this third fundraising goal as well and would value your help so much! If you'd like to donate to my efforts for Wellspring, please know that your contribution really makes a difference! And if right now doesn't work for you, no problem. Thanks for all the ways in which you support me by your friendship and encouragement.
I do hope you'll keep Wellspring in mind as we move into a challenging season of supporting teachers, leaders, and parents in re-opening schools safely so that Rwandan children can receive the education they need to flourish.
And don't forget to mark your calendar for September 19th & 20th so you can track with me and my bubble-team, the WestCoast Wanderers, as we Hike for Rwanda.
May God surprise you with His abundant goodness in this season!

Doubling my Lake2Lake Efforts!
Hello friends, I have been absolutely amazed at the outstanding generosity during this uncertain time. Within a week of sending out my initial support letter, I reached & surpassed my original fundraising goal of $1,500! I have been so encouraged by so many people!! And so...
I decided to double my goal to $3,000. I'd LOVE to reach this second fundraising goal as well and would value your help so much! Please consider donating to Wellspring OR joining in the Lake2Lake Challenge. Your contribution really makes a difference!
Just in these last 2 weeks, the leaders, teachers and parent representatives that our Wellspring trainers work with have all received workbooks for how to safely reopen their schools for the children. These workbooks will be a tool for learning, to facilitate reflection, and to prompt action so that children can be better protected and better able to learn...hopefully come September!
And this week, our Wellspring trainers are preparing for school leader workshops in the coming weeks. These workshops will be focused on preparing meaningful School Improvement Plans. Our team are putting their all into preparations with full Wellspring fun and flavour as they let our values shine through the workshops. Our hope is that these workshops will be fruitful, memorable, and transformative for the school leaders.
And I'm in the research stage - mapping out the Baden Powell Hiking Trail and assessing just how much training I will need to undertake to make this happen. Looks to be an exciting challenge!
It is such a joy to know that good things are stirring as our Wellspring team take hold of the opportunities presented by this season. God is always up to something and it is a joy to partner with Him in caring for His kids. I hope you will join in supporting me and our work in Rwanda in this way!
